This May Sound Stupid

I hope I don't lose my Christian testimony this year when I take one of the Salvation Army bell ringers bell from his hands and launch it into the parking lot, and then run over it with my car.

Over 60% of the men who tryout for to be Special Forces dropout during "Hell Week". I would dropout halfway through signing my name on the entry form.

I never feel quite as stupid as when I poke myself in the eye with my own fingers for no reason whatsoever.

When I was a kid we didn't have teenage sparkly vampires. We had mutant ninja turtles who just happen to be teenagers. And we loved it.

My electric blanket has a pre-heat setting. I go to sleep every night scared that I am going to accidentally set it to broil.

We didn't fight our way to the top of the food chain to be vegetarians.

If I ever join a fringe militia group and we take hostages and hold up in a compound and they use music blasting from speakers to try and wear me down.. Here's a hint: Play Manheim Steamroller or Trans Siberian Orchestra and I will give up immediately and even rat on others.

Is baseball really still America's pastime? We need to venture out and find a new hobby because baseball is pretty dull. I say we take up knitting.

How do they decide when they will bring the McRib back to McDonald's? Are pigs in season?

There is an art to getting the clothes out of the dryer at the perfect moment so that you never have to use an iron. I have those skills.

A Christian With a Gun

Should a Christian own and/or carry a gun?

I do.

Let me tell you why.

a. Because legally, I can.

b. The world is extremely unstable and unsafe right now.

c. Because, I believe that The Word Of God not only allows for such things, but even endorses it's use for the preservation of life.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.Legally, as spelled out in the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, you are allowed to bear arms. The left will tell you this means that only a government regulated militia is allowed to be armed and only then can they have muskets. Using this argument the 1st Amendment right of free speech only applies to telegrams sent by the pony express. As if somehow the first words are a qualifier for the 2nd half of the Amendment.

There is no qualification for the right to bear arms. It's just a own a gun. That's it. Why do you have a "right" to this? It's simple. The founding fathers knew that a day would come when someone would take office and go after the freedoms that, according to them, are God-given. And without the ability to defend such liberties they would vanish from the face of the earth.
It would be like if you were given a priceless gem, but were not given a way to secure it. It'd be like if the Louvre kept the Mona Lisa out on the front lawn at night with just a street light and a 80 year old security guard with a whistle.

The world is sick and evil and getting worse every day.  The Bible is clear that life is sacred. We only get nine chapters into The Bible before God establishes the death penalty, and the precedent for righteous people carrying a gun, or sword, or club.
Genesis 9:6 "Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

Bam! Black and white, even before the law is established He lays out the ultimate punishment first and foremost. You CANNOT take life, Which HE created in HIS own image. To do so is to forfeit your right to your own life.
So, stopping a murderer with a personal weapon, as long as you are in the right, and are absolutely sure that lethal force is necessary in order to stop them.. Go for it, with God's blessing! Protect life.. within the law.

But what if the person is simply breaking into your neighbor's house to rob them...

Look at what Jesus said in the Garden Of Gethsemane..

Luke 22:49-53 (NAS) 49 And when those who were around Him saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"  50 And a certain one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear.  51 But Jesus answered and said, "Stop! No more of this." And He touched his ear and healed him. 52 And Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him, "Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber?  53 "While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours."

This scripture does two things. It tells us that there is a time when NOT to use a gun. To advance the Kingdom.. Never! We don't place any trust in this gun. This gun is powerless if it wasn't for our Heavenly Father, and with that we gladly lay down our guns when it comes to heavenly pursuits. Basically that means when the time comes for us to become persecuted by the State, we will not fight back. Because you can have our body. It's worthless to us anyway.

The other thing in this scripture is when Jesus says "Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber?" He didn't say you people do against a robber. He didn't qualify it. He said it like it is. Like it was obvious. If a robber is doing his thing, you don't stand there like a stump, you protect life, limb and even possessions, if not for yourself, especially your neighbor!

There are a ton of verses in scripture about the preservation of life, through all kinds of means. This does not mean that everyone is supposed to carry a gun. Carrying a gun is a HUGE responsibility. People need to be prepared and trained. The Old Testament talks a lot about having hands trained for war, and being proficient with the sword. And having a firearm at your side is not a thing to take lightly.

But being a Christian does not disqualify you in the active participation of being a citizen in a world that is less than civil. And all that entails.

Hello... It's me

Hello blog.

I'm still here. I am wanting to get back into blogging. I tried to stop short of calling it a New Year's resolution because I never fulfill those. (Still working on my 6-pack abs I promised myself in 1994)
This is going to be a huge downer post (If you aren't a Believer in Christ).

This is the year we probably all hold our nose and vote for The Donald. We do that only so we don't have to hold down our lunch and burn our soul voting for Hillary.

This is the year I think the Spice Girls finally make their comeback.

This is the year that we continue to strive to read our Bible, and pray that The Lord gives us courage, safety, and strength in a sick world where nothing is sacred.

This is the year where we let current politicians feed off of what is left of our liberty.

This is the year where, because of the last point, we will arm ourselves both spiritually and with lots and lots of actual ammo. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

This is the year that is probably going to be one of the scariest years on record, not because of global warming, which doesn't even exist, but because of global jihading. Each subsequent year will be scarier than the last.

This is the year we find out (real) hoverboards and George Jetson's car are probably never going to exist, and never were going to exist. Gravity is a jerk like that.

This is the year the earth will cry out.

This is the year of birth pains.

This is the year we learn to swim.
