Slow Miracles

(a rerun)
A big question that Christians face from skeptics and non-believers is: "Do you believe in Miracles?"
I remember back when I used to get into discussions in my younger days I would say yes but I never could really back up what I was saying with proof or modern day examples beyond a few healings and rumors of instant miracles.

But God has opened up the light to me when it comes to the truth about miracles. A slow miracle is no less impressive than an instant miracle. Consider the fact that you are breathing right now without even having to think about it. Is that not a miracle? Is life itself not a baffling miracle?

Consider the advances in medicine. Is God somehow out of the loop when someone is cured of a deadly infection using anti-biotics? His hand provided the wisdom to the chemist who came up with just the right concoction. Plus what about the raw materials that the chemist used to create the medicine...Did God not create the natural things that eventually were mixed together in just the right way to create such a miracle healer?

What about child birth? Babies grow from nothing more than little microscopic beings to 6 feet tall humans who have brains that are advancing technology, education, and medicine beyond what we ever thought was possible. Is somehow God not a part of that??

Miracles are all around us but we have become so egocentric that we believe that we did this ourselves.
When I start to have doubts about the miracles that surround me in this world I remember what the Lord said to Job when he spoke from out of the whirlwind in Chapter 38 starting in
verse 4:
"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you understand."

And that's all I need to remind myself I am not God and He is. And thank God for that! A slow miracle is no less impressive than an instant miracle.

Observe What's Happening Around You

I have been accused of being too intuitive. Too much of a skeptic. I ask too many questions. And it may be true to some extent. The thought is that as a Christian we walk by faith so we need not question those that God is placing in our lives. Just trust.
But I don't trust. Well let me put it this way, Ronald Reagan called it "Trust but verify." And that's what I tend to do.

But you can learn the truth about people around you, not with just your ears, but with your eyes and ears combined. Listen to what they say, and then observe if they really believe their own words.
If a politician says he is going to reform Washington from all the corruption, and then days later he is accepting money from a lobbyist.. then he is not to be trusted with anything.

And that's where I get in trouble sometimes. If someone lies to me repeatedly then I write them off as a liar and I ignore ALL they say.

If a preacher tells us to live humbly and sacrificially for Christ.. and meanwhile 20/20 is showing us their private plane, mansion, boats, and $300,000 car.. then I will toss everything that preacher says to the wind.

My point is this. Seek out people who you can trust fully, people that maybe put some things before themselves. And pray for those who speak with a forked tongue and live lives opposite of what they preach.

As always, find truth, verify it as truth, and throw your anchor out!

I Should Be President...

* I'm sick of military votes not being counted. It makes me so very angry. They should be counted first. In fact I believe that if we have an election and you are fighting in an active combat then your vote should count as 3 votes. And I'm not joking about that. We pretend to support the troops but we only give it lip service.

* We should go back to paying the doctor straight up for our medical care. We should have minimal influence by insurance companies and the government. If doctor A is asking too much for surgery or medicine than I take my health care needs to doctor B to try to find the lowest cost and the best payment plan. If doctor B isn't as good a doctor as doctor C, then I pay a little more for doctor C. This is how we lower costs!

* The ACLU should not be allowed to force it's misinterpretation of the constitution onto anyone. Recently they have been getting crosses removed from war memorial sites. They should get only so many petitions allowed per year. They'd use them more wisely if they knew they couldn't sue for every little religious symbol that is bothering nobody. Besides, if a cross is bothering you then maybe you need to search in your own heart as to why such an otherwise harmless symbol is causing you such anger.

Sam Cooke Part 4

I don't know why they switch over to a British narrator on this episode.. Because I own the DVD and on that the original narrator is on throughout the entire documentary... Anyway, enjoy!

A Couple Of Observations...

* Tonight's American Idol finals basically pitted a Midwestern, clean cut Christian kid Vs a mascara wearing flamboyant homosexual. And America voted for the Christian kid. Not too surprising considering the majority of Americans listen to Queen yet still feel a little creeped out by Freddie Mercury. Look if you aren't gay then generally you find the thought of gayness as just gross and we don't want to think about it. Just the facts really.

* American Idol is gay.

Man Gets Too Close To Tornado

It passes right over his car.

He plays it cool until it's too late and then he starts pleading with God on camera.

The Sam Cooke Story, Part One

In honor of the fact that I finally finished the Sam Cooke Biography called Dream Boogie...

Fun Facts

* This country should start caning people like they do in Singapore. Especially for financial crimes. Do you think Martha Stewart would ever be involved with insider trading or lie under oath again if they split her rear end six ways to Sunday and sent her home?

* When health care becomes free then America will be a playground for hypochondriacs.

* A customer of mine was reading the side of a bottle of disinfectant spray that we sell and she saw where it said it kills the HIV virus. No lying, She laughed and looked at me and said, "Whatever! If that were true we could just give it to AIDS patients to drink and it would kill their virus." I thought about it for a second in disbelief and then I said. "Yeah and if what you just said were true then you should drink Drain-0 next time you're constipated."

Reasons I Don't Attend The Wichita River Festival

A much needed rerun...

* Goth kids on skateboards hanging out underneath bridges just aren't my crowd.

* Weeks before the festival all the best tube tops from area stores are snatched up.

* I can sit around shirtless and eat funnel cakes at home thank you!

* Admiral Windwagon Smith shot my uncle.

* I hate getting hit in the head with randomly thrown frisbees

* Since everyone is downtown, it's a perfect day to rob trailer homes.

* Pronto Pups are just corndogs. You can get those anytime.

* The button costs $5 and I only have $3.50.

* 3 times more bodies are found floating in the river than usual during the River Festival.

* Hugs from unlicensed clowns.

* That carnival they set up has traveling carnies. Most traveling carnies are on the sexual predator list.

* Hacky sacking smelly hippies.

* I feel like I'm invading all the hobo's homes.

Stay home and avoid viruses, puking, funnel cakes, bad parking, possible death, and scabies.

A Couple Of Observations...

* Obama is allowing the government to nationalize or take over the auto industry and tell a non-government company how and when to spend it's own money. What makes you think that he won't eventually do this with smaller and smaller companies and organizations? The bailout plan turned into a socialistic take over plan. It's going to be an interesting 4 years as liberalism is shoved down our throats. I may just go to a "tea party" myself before it's all over. They are trying to re-kill Reagan down on capitol hill and they no not what they do.

* Elderly people.. you have to love them! However some of them are getting rude and mean in their old age. I think as the newer generation ages we are going to see a more needy, helpless bunch of old folks that feel they are owed something. Yet the generation that fought WWII is still for the most part very gentle and caring. Kinda sad how ungrateful we all are to be raised in the greatest country in the history of the Universe.

Do You Read My Blog? Let Me Know!!

<-----I have finally put up the Follower Widget

So if you read daily or even occasionally please do me a favor and sign up over on the right side of the page.

Thanks to all my readers.. All tens of you!

My Personal Manifesto

* Before all else I am a follower of Christ. In other words I believe that there is One God, One Truth, and One Way. No apologies for my belief that He is yours and my only hope for life and freedom.

* I believe in compassionate conservative. Don't wait for any president, congressman, or government official to tell you when and how to help your neighbor. Just help your neighbor. Sacrifice your money, your health, and your time for your neighbor. Your money, your health, and your time is not yours in the first place.

* Truth is real. Find it and plant your flag and your anchor at the same time. But be able to defend it.

* If it's not worth dying for then is it really worth it?

* I'm fully against abortion, gay marriage, euthanasia, and government-forced socialism. However I believe the best way to stand against those things is to show the other side that the opposite of those things are better. And do that first by living by example. And for every abortion clinic out there we should have 3 pregnancy crisis centers to combat them. Don't try to turn America into Christian utopia.. Just be a Christian utopia to those around you first and foremost. Pray for your enemy. Love your enemy. Instead of casting the first stone.. have pity on them! Be like Stephen.

* War solves LOTS of things, and solves them very well. Don't listen to the neo-hippies that make you believe they are against war because they love humanity. If they loved humanity they'd read their history books and see what war has done to save so many lives. If we hadn't defeated Hitler, Stalin, and Sadaam this world would be a much worse place. Never quit telling yourself that. They don't love humanity, they love liberalism.

* The death penalty solves LOTS of things. People argue that it doesn't deter crime. Wrong.. It does if we actually follow through and allow the death penalty to take place. If I know that when I pull that trigger and take some one's life for personal gain that the government will hang me from my neck until my legs quit kicking... you can bet I will stop and think before I do it. And for my fellow Christians who say that we shouldn't believe in the death penalty... God Commanded it! Genesis 9:6 isn't a suggestion.

* When we become Christians we "abandon ship" on the world. I think our goal should be to convince others that the ship is going down, cause it is.

* Laugh! Don't take your life so seriously. Laugh as much as you can when appropriate!

Fun Facts

* If I became president I would spend most days just up in my room playing PlayStation with my Staff. When there was a major decision to be made I'd let some low end cabinet official make it.. Not now, I'm about to save the princess!

* When I become music minister at a church I will randomly just throw in a song that makes no sense along with the hymns. I just want to see the audience reaction... For instance one week the song list will go like this:
1. When I Survey The Wondrous Cross
2. Nearer My God To Thee
3. I Can Only Imagine
4. Georgia On My Mind
5. May The Mind Of Christ My Savior

* Asians are so good at Ping Pong. I once beat an Asian at ping pong. But only by one point and I found out later he had died after like the third serve.
